Motto:
There is nothing in life like the love of a family.

Dave Pelzer was a small boy who started off living at 40 Crestline Avenue with his mother Roerva, his father Stephen, and his brothers. Dave had problems with his mother which ended up with him in foster care. He went from house to house and from family to family. His favorite thing to do when he had spare time in his foster home was ride his bike. He made many friends and even some enemies throughout his times as a foster kid. His first foster home was Aunt Mary. Things didn’t work out so he moved to his next foster home with the Catanzes. Again he had some problems but this time they were more serious. David was framed for arson. His mother used this against him in her attempt to get revenge for spilling the family secret. His mother got her way and he was sent to The Long Creek Juvenile detention center. However, he won his court case and was put in another foster home with the Turnboughs. After a quick week he moved on to his next home with the Nulls. Then after a short while he was off to his next home with the Joneses. It wasn’t long before he was out of there and in with the Walsh’s. They were his last foster home because when he turned 18 he was on his own. Dave was a strong boy both emotionally and physically when he needed to be. He went through so much and it caused him some emotional distress. He was heading in a bad direction but he realized that he really needed to shape up if he wanted to make it in the world when he was 18. His favorite things to do in his foster home were bike riding and reading. But most of all he tried to spend as much time getting to know his foster parents as possible. He was always looking for the acceptance of the other kids. What really made Dave special was the fact that he was able to endure all of the stuff he was put through and still become the awesome writer he is today. It takes a truly strong person to do that.
